The recent update to Indulgent Aristocrat doesn't reflect the card text. It says it discards the first creature you control, but it is discarding the first creature from your hand. I think it's functioning as intended, as discarding from hand is in line with the SOI expansion, and it'd be a pretty weak buff to have to discard a creature you control that's in play.

So, I think the card text is just not worded very clearly.

    The text is fine. If it had said "destroy" instead of "discard" then it would be interacting with your other creatures on the board.

    Maybe you're right, but "discard the first creature you control" does sound like it is a creature in play and not in your hand. It's a little confusing.
