Picture this if you will...

Sorin just hit the vault and can be purchased for crystals so now there is a Heroic Encounter of him showcasing 5 different, super difficult decks just like the original 5 PWs there now. His challenges also award runes and crystals just like the others for as long as he's in the vault. Then, whenever a new PW is available, boom! A new, matching, Heroic Encounter.

This would motivate players to purchase them, be incredibly rewarding for everybody playing, and probably would be fun to develop and design.

    I think they should just put up heroic encounters for the new planes walker in the known style.
    I don't see any reason to put it up only when the planeswalker is for sale.

    The reason I suggest a rotation of heroic encounters is so it stays fresh for the player. I haven't gone near that part of the game in the last 8 months or so because I cleared it and got all the crystals and such. With the rotation, it would keep players engaged in story mode every week. (progression would reset every release like an event)

    Also, it would showcase card combinations that newer players may find inspirational. Like, if a Tezzeret or Garruk challenge was going on, I think folks would recognize some of their own cards in the challenge decks and feel motivated to buy a PW they didn't want before. I remember running into a Woodland Bellower solo creature Garruk deck back in the day and I got whooped so good, I wanted to get Garruk ASAP to try out the same deck idea.

    I'd be happy with any form of new heroic encounters though, honestly.

    I suggested that each Planeswalker have their own Heroic encounter in story mode a while ago and still think this should be implemented. To add flavor to completing each encounter series, upon getting through all the main objectives in that PWs series you get a booster pack in that PWs colors from their set/block. Some PWs get something different:

    ajani
    red/white pack
    arlinn kord- werewolf
    chandra
    red pack
    garruk
    beast/elemental/wurm/hydra
    gideon Ally- ally****
    gideon B---- white pack
    jace
    blue pack
    jace2
    soi blue pack
    kiora
    bfz blue/green pack
    koth
    red pack
    liliana
    black pack
    liliana2---- zombie**
    nahiri
    soi white/red pack
    nissa
    green pack
    ob nixilis-- black pack
    saheeli rai- kld red/blue pack
    sarkhan
    dragon*
    sorin
    vampire**
    tezerret---- blue support****
    dovin baan-- kld blue/white pack
    chandra2---- kld red pack
    nissa2
    kld green pack

    Some PWs are specialists in one area. With their PW powers specific to a creature type it is only fitting that they get to try this to all colors of creatures instead of being restricted to the ones that is the same color as the PW.
    This will give no benefit to some since all creatures of that type are already in their color identity, such as with Arlin Kord (R/G werewolves), Saheeli rai (thopter/vehicles are colorless), Sarkhan (currently all dragons are red). However some have lots to gain.

    When you complete all of these planewsalkers heroic encounters at 100% and have that PW leveled to 60 you unlock that PWs SPECIAL which alters their deck limits. Once unlocked, the following PWs get these limits removed.

    Sorin - any vampire allowed in deck construction (only gains a few straight red vampires)
    Liliana2 - any zombie allowed in deck construction (nearly doubles the zombies available to her)
    Tezzeret - any color support allowed in deck construction (this may be capped to up to 2 supports of any color)
    Gideon Ally - any Ally creature allowed in deck construction
