was out much of last week. did they announce all that? wow, I missed a lot. that would be awesome if they did because I know where to put my iso now. all of the next 5 I have chances with (some better than others). it gets pretty shaky after that.

I, along with many others on here I'm guessing, have 100% no shot at any of those.

For me, all of those heroes are in the 3 - 4 cover range. My highest of that batch is a 1 1 2 Jean Grey.
I couldn't even dent that stupid Jean Grey match with her perfectly chosen TU attack with a 3 1 1 Ant Man.
No way in hell I'll be able to beat any of these.

And the 4 Star transition drought continues....
  • Oh yah- I mean it doesn't really help me either.

    10/30- Starlord (I'm 0/1/1)
    11/04- Kingpin (don't even have a cover)
    11/09- Prof X (0/1/1)
    11/14- Carnage (don't have)
11/19- Thing (0/0/3 mayyyybe but prob not. I'l try and fail 100 times probably)
    11/24- Jean Grey (don't have)
    11/29- Sam Wilson (1/0/0)

So much for my 4* transition for November...

    Jean Grey 0/0/0
    Sam Wilson 0/0/0

    10/30- Starlord not on roster
11/04- Kingpin one black two purple
11/09- Prof X not on roster
11/14- Carnage two black one green
11/19- Thing two yellow one red
    11/24- Jean Grey one green
11/29- Sam Wilson not on roster

Sadly none of these will victories for me. I have so few covers with these characters that I don't even remember what their color orders are...hope the new gameplay feature that is supposed to help with getting 4*s gets here soon

    ok, i'll play...

    10/30- Starlord 4/2/2 level 145
    11/04- Kingpin 3/1/3 level 121 (will be 145)
    11/09- Prof X 3/1/4 level 145
    11/14- Carnage 4/-/2 level 121 (will be 145)
11/19- Thing 1/2/3 level 121 (will be at least level capped at 131)
11/24- Jean Grey 4/2/2 level 111 (will be at least 145)
11/29- Sam Wilson 1/2/1 level 94 (this is where i'll be done for a while unless I pull some of these characters)

    iceman -/1/1
    Cyclops -/2/1
    rulk 1/1/1

my prediction for me. first full run-through i'll miss on 6 of the current characters. only older character i'll have missed on was fury. xp, sam, ice, cyc, rulk = no dice, probably.
  • Neat to see this getting published. Shouldn't be too bad for me, some will be easy enough, some look like a great but hopefully winnable challenge.

10/30- Starlord 5/3/5 - 80. Can take him high enough to survive whatever it is.
    11/04- Kingpin 4/4/5 - 190. Should be fine.
11/09- Prof X - 5/3/5 - 221 (can't go higher or winfinite doesn't work). Depends on opponent. Carnage would actually be great.
    11/14- Carnage - 5/3/5 - 269 - Fun and easy.
11/19- Thing - 0/1/5 - 90 (152 cap) - This should be a rather interesting challenge. Green is great, but yellow is worthless regardless of covers, and no red for stun will be tough too. But similar XDP did alright against XF Wolvie, so I'm hopeful.
    11/24- Jean Grey - 5/3/5 - 269 - Fun and easy.
11/29- Sam Wilson - 5/5/2 - 131 (250 cap) (pulled more yellows and blues than I could use from Leg token opening) - Should also be an interesting challenge without much more leveling.

    Mr. F 5
    Iceman 4
    Cyc 6
    Rulk 3

I got really lucky with Cyc token pulls, but other than that I only have more than 4 covers on the worst characters.

I knew my 4*s were not near useable other than xfw and iw, but this really showed me how far off they are.

It's scary to me to see people struggling to do these with middle-covered 4 stars. Considering I have 0-2 covers for all of these, it's a dark, dark view on my MPQ future.

Then again, there's arguments for how people without a maxed 3 star roster don't deserve chances for the 4 star DDQ, so I guess I have a mixed reaction.
  • Fine, I haven't been depressed about MPQ in a few minutes. icon_e_wink.gificon_lol.gif

10/30- Starlord 1/1/1 (from dailies, and I think I won one somewhere)
11/04- Kingpin 0/2/0 (had the first forever, got another at the end of the anniversary)
11/09- Prof X 0/0/1 (I forgot I had one of his cards! Not sure where it came from)
11/14- Carnage 0/0/0 (don't own any, have never seen one)
11/19- Thing 1/0/1 (won both during his intro PvE, haven't seen one since)
11/24- Jean Grey 0/0/0 (don't own any, have never seen one)
11/29- Sam Wilson 0/0/0 (don't own any, have never seen one)

    Yep, that did it. icon_e_sad.gificon_e_wink.gificon_lol.gif

On the bright side, Galactus 1 was good practice for my DDQ 4* nodes… where I will be dying in 3-4 moves. icon_razz.gif

I thought that calendar was being maintained by a player and not the devs? So these are just guesses based on release order I think.

But to join in the fun:
10/30- Starlord - Level 100 (5/2/2) - I'll probably end up spending the ISO to level him up to 140, but I think this fight should be winnable - I have the most important 5 purple to do enough damage hopefully!
11/04- Kingpin - Level 90 (1/2/0) - No chance! My only damaging ability is 1 black, and with no CDs I don't think I have a chance.
11/09- Prof X - Level 70 (1/0/0) - No chance! Maybe if I had 1 cover of purple, and the opponent has no AoE.
11/14- Carnage - Level 90 (2/0/1) - Maybe, it's far away enough that I might get one or two more covers. Hopefully they're Red, or I guess maybe hopefully they are all Green. Either probably would work.
11/19- Thing - Level 94 (1/1/2) - Again, not a chance as it stands right now, but I'll probably pick up one or two more covers by the time of the DDQ. Should be in with a chance if I get more green covers.
11/24- Jean Grey - Level 94 (1/1/2) - Not a chance as it stands, but again I have long enough that I might get more covers.
11/29- Sam Wilson - Level 111 (0/3/1) - Awful cover distribution, blue is pretty much useless without a yellow cover, and 1 red cover will do no damage either. Don't think even picking up 1 or 2 covers by this DDQ I'll stand a chance.

    Other 4*s:
Mr Fantastic - Level 111 (2/1/2) - Good chance of beating it, as long as I get 1 or 2 more covers.
Red Hulk - Level 94 (1/1/2) - Not looking good, need more green covers I think.
Iceman - Level 90 (0/1/2) - Need green to be able to win I think.
Cyke - Level 74 (0/1/1) - Missed his 1k, so still stuck with 2 covers. Not a chance of winning any time soon.

Look back at 4* DDQs already past:
XFW - Level 172 (1/5/4) - I won last time with only 4 black covers, so hopefully the next time will be easier!
Thor - Level 140 (5/2/1) - I won last time with this exact cover distribution, so hopefully I'll manage to do so again.
Deadpool - Level 140 (5/1/0) - I won last time with only 4 red covers, so hopefully this will be easier with 5. Maybe I'll even manage to pick up a purple cover before his next DDQ and I'll have an easier time.
Antman - Level 140 (4/0/2) - I won last time with this distribution of covers, but got an extremely lucky board. At least I know it's possible.
Elektra - Level 131 (2/1/3) - I won last time with these covers, was one of the easier DDQs.
IW - Level 120 (4/4/5) - I won last time with significantly less covers, and Legendary Tokens have been kind enough to help me max my first 4*! So this should be easy.
Devil Dino - Level 111 (1/2/2) - Don't think he'll be around until next year, but I still have my 3 to go from shield resupply, so will be even easier to win next time.
Nick Fury - Level 111 (2/2/1) - Had no chance with these covers, hopefully I'll pick up some more for the next time this rotates around.

In summary, it looks like Star Lord will be my last successful DDQ for a while - but maybe I'll have enough covers by the time of the later 4* DDQs.

    Sucks to suck.

    10/30- Starlord (4/1/2, lvl 70)
    11/04- Kingpin (4/2/3, lvl 70)
    11/09- Prof X (5/1/5, lvl 220)
    11/14- Carnage (5/0/1, lvl 70)
    11/19- Thing (2/1/3, lvl 70)
    11/24- Jean Grey (4/2/3, lvl 70)
    11/29- Sam Wilson (1/4/1, lvl 100)

I will beat all of these, just like I beat all the ones before. Because I'd rather take on a challenge than throw in the towel and blame the devs for my short-comings.

Just an observation.. almost all of the 4*s on your list have at least 6 covers. I presume the ones already fought in the Crash of the Titans (CotT) also had at least 6?

If that's the case, then congratulations to you. You're in the sweet spot of having the roster strong enough for the challenge and win usable covers from the Legendary Token.

Otherwise, let's not dismiss other people's opinions simply because they're upset that their 3-4 covers 4* are struggling.

Simply observing the forum and my own experience:
    1. yes, under covered characters can win their challenges, depending on the cover distribution and if we got seriously lucky with the board and cascades. (I won one of them, icon_nickfury.png ,when he had only 6 covers)
    2. 7-8 covers (again, depending on the distribution) would allow us to level the character to 166. That's probably the minimum numbers we need to comfortably beat the challenges. Anything less would require boosts, to increase our match damage +/- to be able to use our powers quicker. Also, to survive the opponent's match damage +/- powers.

So, I asked the question before CotT was introduced: who is this aimed at? I think I've found my answers now.
I agree that the 166 lvl is about where people can pretty confidently take down the 4* DDQ nodes, but they can also be won with underleveled and undercovered characters as well. I'd have to dig through all the threads, but I'm pretty sure that damn near every one has been beaten by a 1/1/1. I just can't stand this defeatist attitude where people would rather **** about how life isn't fair than attempt something that is difficult.

I love these nodes. Look at my upcoming character levels - most of them are level 70, and 4* characters that aren't currently usable for anything other than this 4* DDQ or essential nodes. So the challenge for me is beating the node investing as little ISO as possible. I don't want to take any of those upcoming 4* characters (Jean Grey and maybe Kingpin excluded) to a level any higher than I need to to beat the 4* node. It's hard, but it's supposed to be. For me it's this puzzle aspect of the game that makes it fun for me. I really look forward to these fights every 5 days.

I know lots of people who do. I did the first couple of matches, but that got way too expensive. i'll throw all the iso boosts at it I need to but no more hp boosts for me - those are for pvp. one exception might be the match damage boost (only if I feel I'm close but having some trouble) - I never use those in pvp, but use the +2 all ap boosts during hops against 4* teams. I do use those rarely against hood in high pve nodes too (when I can't mirror him).

    Upcoming 4*s:
    10/30- Starlord - Level 90 (2/1/0) - No chance here
11/04- Kingpin - Level 120 (2/5/3) - No ISO to level to 209, hopeful I can beat it with some luck
11/09- Prof X - Level 120 (2/4/3) - No ISO to level to 188, doubt it's possible unless the match up allows me to go invisible and win via match damage
11/14- Carnage - Level 120 (4/0/2) - No ISO to level to 147, no black so I'm not killing myself but then I lose out on the extra damage too. Unlikely
11/19- Thing - Level 120 (2/4/5) - No ISO to level to 229, Probably my best chance of another win here.
    11/24- Jean Grey - Level 94 (2/1/1) - Not a chance here
    11/29- Sam Wilson - Level 115 (1/3/1) - No chance.

    Other 4*s:
Mr Fantastic - Level 120 (3/2/2) - No ISO to level to 147, might get lucky and win this one but I don't count on it.
Red Hulk - Level 78 (1/1/1) - Can't seem to hit 1k for another cover in his pvp event. No chance here
Iceman - Level 120 (2/2/2) - No ISO to level to 127, another that may be possible
Cyke - Level 86 (0/2/0) - No damage ability so that's not possible

    Previous 4*:
XFW - Level 140 (3/4/2) - Last time he was only level 70 (1/2/1). Attempted more than 20 times with no luck. Should be possible now with more covers and even better if I have ISO to take him to 188
Thor - Level 120 (2/3/2) - Last time she was only level 70 (1/1/1). Again more than 20 attempts with no luck. Better chances if I have ISO to level her to 147
Deadpool - Level 120 (3/2/1) - My first win last time so I should be able to do it again. Might be easier if I level him to 131
Antman - Level 106 (2/0/2) - Another win here but I got really lucky with a board full of yellow. Enough to cast it three times (only did two while I waited for more tiles). After casting purple it was game.
Elektra - Level 120 (0/3/3) - Last time she was only level 70 (0/1/1) so I didn't stand a chance. Still missing purple so I don't think it's possible even if I level her to 147
IW - Level 120 (0/4/0) - Last time she was only level 70 (0/1/0) so didn't even bother to attempt it. Still not getting any other colours, not even going to bother to level her to 127
Devil Dino - Level 115 (1/3/1) - Last time he was only level 70 (0/0/1) so I didn't bother. A shame that the other covers came afterwards.
Nick Fury - Level 94 (1/2/1) - Last time he was only level 70 (0/1/0), again didn't bother trying. Probably needs a few more covers to stand a chance

I'm in an ISO and HP drought (had 5000 saved up but blew it on 5 slots for SS, OML, R. Hulk, Cylcops and Starlord) at the moment. Not sure should I continue to bring more 3* to 166 (currently have 16 with most of the remaining close to fully covered/need to respec) or start saving them for 4*.

my 3*s are on hold until i get my 4*s to about 145. that is what i feel gives them a chance without costing too much. looking at your roster, torch or daken might help some with depth, but not sure they'd make a huge difference in your performance. if you put that iso into kp, px, carnage, MFer, ice - you might get 2-4 LTs out of it.

sure I'd like to bump blade, witch, and falcon up a tier (and eventually gsbw and finish maxing hulk and loki), but to me getting my 4s to 145 is first right now.

So we can write in stone Sam Wilson vs 3* Cpt Marvel I think.

Two color overlap, and his primary strength of battle (all those protect tiles) get zapped by her red that you have to fight over.
