R99!

Bundle up...

Coming Soon - Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War and in-game events inspired by the film!

What’s Changed
    - Character Affiliations can now be seen in their bio descriptions. Affiliations include (but are not limited to); Heroes, Villains, and Avengers. - Fixed a bug where an airborne or invisible character would remain in front after a teammate landed in the same turn. - The area of effect portion of Carnage’s Symbiote Scythes ability now damages invisible enemies as intended. - Spider-Man (Back in Black) should no longer immediately turn invisible and not take any damage if Cyclops (Uncanny X-Men) fires Full Blast while there are more than 9 red tiles on the board. - All rewards should now be properly earned if the player’s game was terminated before they claimed the reward.

Agreed. With the Civil War movie at hand, it makes him far more likely than Emma Frost.

This is probably the most interesting news I've read in a while. I'm definitely excited at the prospect of what this means (although already lowering my expectations based on the previous material that's been delivered to us).

    Also,

    Bundle up...

Bundle can be used as both a verb or noun, and in either case the word "bale" can be used as a synonym. As we all know, Christian Bale, appeared in the Dark Knight movies directed by Christopher Nolan. He also appeared in The Prestige, also directed by Christopher Nolan. In this movie, he starred opposite of Hugh Jackman, who has portrayed the mutant known as Wolverine in a number of separate movies. However in The Prestige, we have a delightful cameo of David Bowie as the inventor Nikola Tesla.
Although Bowie's role in The Prestige was a rather minor support role, he was front and centre in the children's movie The Labyrinth, in which he played Jareth, The Goblin King. The hero - or rather, heroine - of The Labyrinth was Sarah, who set out to rescue her baby brother from the clutches of Jareth. Sarah was portrayed by Jennifer Connelly.
She's married to Paul Bettany, who we would recognise as Vision in Avengers 2, and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War.
Civil War is set to feature Bucky Barnes as a pivotal character.
Bucky Barnes is also known as The Winter Soldier.

Winter Soldier confirmed for the R99 character!

Well, bundle up is a very motherly thing to say to your kid. Or rather, something a motherly person says to the child she's raising. Who is more motherly and protective to her child than Aunt May? And we did just have her visually in a story.

    Golden Oldie?

Alternatively, 'bundle up' is a phrase that is usually only used when it is cold and it is cold in the winter, therefore it is still winter soldier, but done within the traditional 6 degrees of separation. icon_mrgreen.gif

A synonym for "bundle" (noun) is also "bolt." Black Bolt confirmed.

Carnage Update = Goodbye Charles Xavier?

Affiliation Update = Goodbye FoX-Men and Foxtastic Four?

I was curious about the affiliation thing - is there a reason to not include mutant or x-men (or something similar) in the affiliation? Or does that just mean that the Children of the Atom off-season PVP event is permanently toast?

I can imagine someone using Cyclops being pissed enough to file a bug report over that.

It doesn't say groups like the X-Men, FF, don't exist (and won't exist in game). It just picked Avengers, Heroes, Villains as subset of affiliations that heroes could be in.

I wonder if there's an large upcoming Marvel event where people will be divided into 2 rather arbitrary groups casual fans won't be able to remember....nah could never have something like that happen.

They already changed his Clash opponent to Elektra back when they made it clear that this was what they intended.

Also, that HAS to be Bucky. "bundle up" landing the same week the movie comes out, that's kind of a gimme.

Is defining the affiliation intended to help us determine who are heroes and who are villains as it relates to the character abilities that do extra damage to villains, etc?

Just to clarify things for me personally:

    R98: Revenge- the great motivator
    R99: Bundle Up

Do these refer to the same character, because I don't think we got the character relating to that?, there was nothing vengeful about Howard.

Does this mean we could be in for another bach to back character release?

Featuring maybe both War Machine, whose potential cinematic death pushes Stark on a path of vengence targeting is former comrade, and Winter Soldier?

Bundle Up. "Bundle" can be a pack. "Up" means is an upgrade from a regular pack. That means we will be getting the Power Pack as a group character like Rocket & Groot.

Come on, if it was Bucky, the clue would have been "Brace Yourselves"

Could also define who's in the Fantastic Four for Mr.F's yellowflag.png. I know I've been waiting for this!
